William H Tyler (Bill), 72, of Byron, New York, passed away on September 27, 2025. Born on June 23, 1953, in Rochester, New York, Bill lived a life rooted in hard work, quiet humor, and deep devotion to his family.
Throughout his life, Bill contributed his skills and dedication to several workplaces across the region. He worked at Paul Stein and Sons Farm, the Rochester Airport, Tom Long Excavating, and later with Gates Chili Central Schools. Whether tending fields or maintaining facilities, Bill brought a steady hand and a problem-solver’s mindset to every task.
Bill was a man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. A loyal Cleveland Browns fan through thick and thin, he also enjoyed gardening and could often be found listening to talk radio or watching The Weather Channel. His love for cartoons revealed a playful side that matched his well-known comedic wit. Though he was a man of few words, when he spoke it was often with perfect timing—his one-liners were legendary among those who knew him best. He had a knack for fixing just about anything and took pride in being the go-to mechanic and handyman for family and friends alike. A cold Genny Light in hand and a cigar in his mouth was often all he needed to unwind after a long day.
Above all else, Bill cherished his role as a husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife Faline Tyler; sons William Tyler (Kristen Grubb) and Robert Tyler (Greg Anmuth); grandchildren Kathryn, Bailey, Logan, Kinsleigh, and one future blessing on the way. His love for them was unwavering—he was fiercely loyal and endlessly proud of each one.
Bill is also remembered by his sisters Carol Fogarassy, Kathy Tyler, and Laurie Hurley; along with many in-laws, nieces, and nephews who will miss his presence dearly.
He now joins in rest his parents William R. Tyler and Kathryn Tyler; fatherin-law Robert Estes; brothers David Tyler and Gary Tyler; brother in-law Tim Hurley; and nephew Matthew Fogarassy.
Bill’s laughter echoes still in the hearts of those who loved him. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be held on October 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Byron Presbyterian Church 6293 W Main St. A Celebration of Life will be held at Byron Fire Hall 6357 Townline Rd.
