William Robert Goodburlet, born at home on August 2, 1930, in Caledonia, NY passed away in the early morning on October 6, 2025. Bill, as he was most commonly known, was the oldest son to his parents, Eugene and Catherine. He was predeceased by his three siblings, Virginia (Lester) Pimm, Raymond Goodburlet, and Dorothy. He was also predeceased by his loving wife, Shirley Goodburlet. Bill is survived by his four children: James (Karen) Goodburlet, Fay (Michael) Pullyblank, Richard Goodburlet, and Marysue (Thomas) Hobika. Additionally, he is remembered by his companion Marie Manley.

Bill was deeply rooted in Caledonia, living there his whole life. He grew up on a farm on Feely Rd and moved to State St with the love of his life in 1954, where they raised their family together. They welcomed many friends and family into their home over the years. The small house was always packed on Christmas Eve with family and friends alike, many joining Bill in a toast with his favorite drink, a Manhattan. During the summer months, everyone knew when they saw the pool umbrella up, it was a signal to stop by for a swim and a beer or two from the keg.

Bill wasn’t just a family man, he was also a patriot. He served in the US Army during the Korean War Era. He received an award as the longest living member of the Matthew Cleary Post 255.

He was employed at Eastman Kodak company, where made many long time friends in the Roll Coating Department. He was a hard worker and never one to shy away from working overtime.

Bill enjoyed life to the fullest. He could often be found playing cards, solving the daily crossword, putting together a 1,000 piece jigsaw puzzle, watching trains, or cheering on the Buffalo Bills.

Please join the family in celebrating Bill’s life on Thursday, October 9, 2025 at St Columba's in Caledonia at 11:00 AM for a funeral mass. The burial will immediately follow the mass. All are welcome to share a meal in Bill’s honor at The American Legion.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to the Crossroads House (11 Liberty Street, Batavia, NY) in his memory.
