Sharon Barth

Sharon Elaine (Curry) Barth, 78, of York, NY, passed away July 16, 2026, after a lengthy illness with the loving support of her lifelong friend Barb (Boyd) Tange was by her side.
Sharon was born on November 26, 1947, at Warsaw Hospital. She grew up In York. She attended York Central School and Bryant and Stratton College in Buffalo, NY. Sharon spent many years in Buffalo after college. Sharon and Mr. Whitey moved back to Livingston County in the early 1990’s living in Avon and later in Retsof, NY. Sharon endured an extended illness and was cared for at Leroy Village Green.

She was a devoted wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend. Her kindness and goofy humor is remembered lovingly by friends and family. Sharon had a passion for writing poetry and would often send poems to parents, siblings and friends. She was a loving woman who was devoted to those close to her. Whether creating new poems or traveling to Florida to visit her late parents, brother or close friends, her humor and love was a gift she always brought to share.

Sharon was predeceased by the love of her life and husband Charles “Mr. Whitey” Barth, parents, Warren “Hank” Curry and Doris Curry of York (retired to Florida), Sister Marjorie Chapman of Conroe, Texas, Brother Garrey W. Curry of Liverpool NY, and Nephews Kenneth Jenks and Stephen Curry.

Sharon is survived by her brother Alex Curry of York, NY, brother Raymond Paulsen of Waterloo, NY and her brother Warren Curry Jr. of Jacksonville Beach, FL. She is fondly remembered by 14 nephews and nieces, and several grand nephews and nieces.
Friends and Family are invited to a Celebration of Life service on Sunday August 16th at 1PM at Alhart Funeral Home 3068 W. Main St. Caledonia. The celebration will be followed by burial in York at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew and loved her.
