Kathryn B. Russ

Kathryn Russ passed peacefully after a brief hospital stay at age 97. She is predeceased by her husband, Charles Russ and her grandson, Jeffrey Russ. She is survived by her children, John Russ, Paul (Lorraine) Russ, Janet (Steven) Russ-Clar, and Martha Russ. Her grandchildren, Kelly (Gregory) Awarski, Melissa (David) Allen, Lauren Russ Clar and Sarah Russ-Clar as well as 3 great-grandchildren.

Kathryn was a renowned seamstress. She spent years making, repairing and altering clothing for her family and the Caledonia community. She made custom slip covers for furniture and countless custom draperies.

Kathryn was known for her baking, especially for rolls and sweet rolls. She made large amounts of baked goods for church events and baked food sales over the years. Many people would have her make pies for their holiday gatherings.

She enjoyed gardening. She froze or preserved the fruits and vegetables that came from her garden as well as bringing bouquets of flowers into her house.

Kathryn believed in setting a strong, quiet example, like her faith by being an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Caledonia for 70+ years.

Kathryn was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and pet owner.

Join us in remembering Kathryn and her several decades of service to the Lord through her church on October 29, 2022 at 11 AM in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church of Caledonia, 3080 West Main Street, Caledonia, NY 14423. Private Interment.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
