Jack W. Miller

Scottsville: On February 5, 2014 at age 89. The son of Ethel and William Miller, Jack was born September 1, 1924 in Scottsville. He owned and operated a mining and excavating company in Scottsville from 1948-1989 and after retirement he helped his son Jack create Gravel Ponds in Scottsville.

Jack's wife, Peggy predeceased Jack. He is survived by his sons, Jack (Penny) Miller, Rusty (Becky) Miller, John Miller and Michael Miller; daughter, Jill (Andy) Guldenschuh; grandchildren, Kristin (Dave) Luce, Jack (Elizabeth) Miller, Alaina (Chris) Skinner, Dylan and Baylee Miller, Camryn and Colin Guldenschuh; 3 great-grandchildren, Olivia and Alec Luce and Christopher Skinner; longtime companion, Joyce Burns; brother-in-law, Robert Oliver; several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call Friday 4-7 p.m. and Saturday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. His Funeral Service will be held Sunday, February 9, 2014 at 1 p.m. Mumford United Presbyterian Church, 893 George Street, Mumford, NY 14511. His Interment will be held at Mumford Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Mumford United Presbyterian Church.
