Obituary for Robert A. Attridge
Robert “Bob” Attridge, 80, of Wheatland, NY, passed away Sunday February 19, 2023 at his home.
Bob was born on August 29, 1942 to Robert and Eleanor Attridge in Rochester, NY. Bob graduated from Charlotte High School in 1961. He also served in the Army from 1964 - 1966.
In 1968 Bob made a very significant purchase that remained with him through his passing. Bob’s 1968 GTO fueled a decades long love affair with Drag Racing. The GTO and white car trailer with Attridge Racing scrawled across them, graced many a drag strip both locally and out of state. Bob and the GTO were well known at his local haunt, Empire Dragway. There wasn’t a drag strip or car show that Bob went that he didn’t know 1 or 50 people. He was well loved by his racing friends and family.
Robert/Bob/Sparky/Pops/Grandpa Bob is survived by his loving spouse Christine Attridge. His brother David (Carol) Attridge. His children - Kelly (Paul) Attridge Vorhauer, Robert Attridge and Jeffrey (Karen) Attridge. His step children - Tricia Cornell, Rachel Cornell and Rebecca Cornell. His six grandchildren - James (Carli) Attridge, Frank Attridge, Molly Sims, Mady Sims, Max Sims and Miller Crayton.
Bob was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He will be truly missed and will never never be forgotten.
