Obituary for Norma J. Lawson

Caledonia, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, April 28, 2022.

Norma was born on August 18, 1937 in Niagara Falls, N.Y. to James and Winifred McKay. She is predeceased by her parents, husband of more than 50 years, William Lawson, and brothers, Ernie and Fred McKay. Norma retired from Jones Chemicals, and worked part-time in the deli at Caledonia Marketplace.

Norma’s love for her family, travel, and crafts were evident all throughout her life. She enjoyed traveling around the world and regular trips to Turkey Point & Myrtle Beach with family and friends. Spending time and making memories with those she loved is what she lived for. Norma was a creator of many things. She used her special talents to take on any project that was presented to her. She liked to sew, crochet, knit, and quilt. Norma will be remembered for her welcoming spirit, kind and generous heart, and above all, her unconditional love for those around her. To know her is to love her.

Norma is survived by her brother, Rog (Barb) McKay; son, Joseph Lawson of Wellsville; daughter, Sally (John) MacIntyre of LeRoy; daughter-in-law, Judy Callan; grandchildren, Brandi Somerville, Joe (Whitney) Lawson, Amber (Brett) Sheffer, David Lawson, & Erin Lawson; great-grandchildren Truitt, Brogan, Maverick, Liam, & Everly; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.

Visitation for family and friends will take place on Sunday, May 1 at Alhart Funeral Home in Caledonia, N.Y. from 1-4 PM. A private burial service will be held at a future date.
