Obituary for Robert A. Hilderbrant
CALEDONIA - Unexpectedly on May 20, 2021. At the age of 71. Predeceased by his parents Theodore and Lillian, and brother Larry. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years; Sandy, their children Michelle (Robert) Gallagher, Robert “RJ” Hilderbrant,. Brothers and Sisters; Jim (Ann) Hilderbrant, Dora Bubel, Bill (Maryann) Hilderbrant, Linda (Larry) Wilkins, Dana (Kelly) Hilderbrant, Patty (Steve) Gessel, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bob went to College at Suny Brockport earning a BS in Health Education. He was a math and science teacher at Boces in Mt.Morris for many years. Bob is also in the Football and Wrestling Hall of Fame. He served his community in many ways as a member of the Caledonia-Mumford School Board, coaching wrestling for many years at Cal-Mum, Boy Scout Leader, and director of the Caledonia Youth Center.
Helping children was not the only way he served the community, Bob was also the President of the Livingston County Fair, and Helping with the Discovery Farm Days.
He loved spending time outdoors,where he spent time working on chainsaw carvings, fishing at the lake, animals, gardening, going to flea markets, antique stores, and woodworking. In his travels he like to joke around with others.
But out of all Bob accomplished, the most important was being the best Dad and Husband Ever.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home. 3068 W. Main St. Caledonia. His service and interment will be held privately. In Lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to Focus on the Children P.O. Box 31 Caledonia, NY 14423.
