Passed away January 18, 2021 at age 102.
Lora Grant Washington (Simms) Majors was born March 1, 1918 in Korea, Virginia. At an early age she worked in a private home. She moved to Caledonia, NY with her mother and some of her siblings. She attended Caledonia High School through the 12th grade. In October 1938, Lora married Lewis Ray Simms and had two sons. She married John R. Majors June 24, 1961. She resided in Caledonia and was employed by Caledonia Networks for 12 years. She later worked as a group leader in the electrical department for General Railway Signal for 18 years.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Susan Simms, W. Henrietta, NY, grandson, Jonathan Simms, step daughter-in-law, Edna Majors, six great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, John R. Majors and her son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Beatrice Simms.
A Graveside Service is planned for the spring.
