Obituary for Michele M. Sullivan

Michele M. Sullivan, 68, passed away peacefully on August 29, 2020 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Michele was born and raised in Rochester where she graduated from Gates-Chili High School. Eventually settling in Livingston County, Michele raised 5 children before retiring in 2011 as a Library Assistant at Cal-Mum Central Schools. After retirement her and James (Jim) Sullivan, her husband of 10 years, moved to Ohio for a few years and then Colorado for a bit before returning to Caledonia in 2018.

Michele had a passion for sewing, learning at a young age from her Aunt Helen as well as high school home and careers classes. She sewed countless wedding party dresses, Halloween costumes and other clothes for her children, as well as performing numerous clothing repairs and modifications for all of her friends and family. She also loved to sew a variety of dolls and doll clothes, including look a-likes of Raggedy Ann and Andy, blankets and taggies for her children, nieces and grandchildren. When she wasn’t sewing or spending time with her loved ones you could often find her working as a monitor for sporting events held at Cal-Mum’s athletic fields.

Michele was predeceased by her father, Matthew “Mickey” Drobek, mother Sophie (Kawacz) Drobek, and brother Michael Drobek. She is survived by her husband of 10 years, James Sullivan; children Shawn (Michelle) Skelly, Kevin (Emily) Skelly, Karen (Stephen) Harrington, Courtney (Kevin) Hacker, and Katelyn Farley, as well as her step-children Tammy Spear, Michelle (David) Mungo, Jennifer Wallace and James (Michelle) Sullivan; 20 beautiful grandchildren, Justin, Kearstin, Ricky, Robby, Nancilyn, Rayna, Falene, Patrick, Paige, Jackson, Kaelyn, Abby, Madelyn, Savanna, James, Bella, Nathan, Hanna, Grace and Eli; brothers Mark Drobek, Mitchell Drobek and Marty (Terri) Drobek; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends and family may call Friday, Sept. 4th 4-7 pm at Alharts Funeral Home, 3068 West Main St., Caledonia. Funeral services will be held privately. The funeral home will be operating at limited capacity per state guidelines, New York State Requires those in attendance to adhere to these guidelines including to those related to social distancing and face coverings.
