Wilda Rose Ostrand

Caledonia: Age 86, died peace-fully at the Hurlbut Nursing Home in Rochester, NY on July 8, 2014. She had been treated for Alzheimer’s. She was born on August 2, 1927 to parents, Willard and Mary Alice (Brietenbach) Hoagland and married Lewis Richard VanOstrand on May 7, 1960. Wilda was predeceased by her husband, Lewis in March of 2010 and is survived by a brother, Edward of Ohio; her son, Rick (Cathy) Blum of Caledonia; her daughter, Erica (Randy) Burnell of Churchville; her daughter, Amy (Greg) Thomas of Seattle, WA; 9 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her family, vacationing, entertaining, genealogy, and volunteering at the Genesee Country Museum.

A Graveside Service will be held for Wilda at 11 AM on Tues-day, July 15, 2014 at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, 3168 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Piffard (Fowlerville), NY. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Wilda’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Caledonia, 3080 Main St., Caledonia, NY 14423 or the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 435 E. Henrietta Rd., Rochester, NY 14620.
