Condolence: On behalf of all current and former members of the ROCHESTER ORATORIO SOCIETY, we send our condolences on the passing of our dear friend Bid Rubenstein. Bid was our "Charter Member" of ROS having joined in 1945, singing for over 60 years in the soprano section and retiring in 2010. Bid was a very special lady and friend of all of us and will be dearly missed.

Condolence: From my earliest memories as a child, "Bid" was always a bright light in my life. From riding in your convertible to having tea to playing with the life size doll that we can't remember her name....You'll always be one of my favorite women and I will cherish our fun times forever! God speed; you'll make a beautiful angel full of song!

Condolence: I met Bid in the Rochester Oratorio Society. We carpooled to rehearsals for many years. She introduced me to the Genesee Country Village and Museum, and I loved taking friends and family there to visit "Mrs. Livingston" and hear her sing the national anthem during the 4th of July celebrations. Bid was a very special woman who took care of many people and went out of her way to be friends with all. I will miss her.

Condolence: I started by calling out bingo numbers in Avon when Bid swept me away to push her through the garden. I never turned back. Over the next few years we spent a lot of time in that garden together; Bid dead-heading flowers, and I laying down mulch. With our efforts we managed to keep it looking good for about a week every year. I'll always remember our time together. She was my unexpected friend that I will greatly miss.
