Well lets try to give you some background of my Dad. From what I recall - He had a total of 6 sisters and a half brother. At one time his Mom and Dad lived behinds us on Livingston St. in Geneseo, This had to be back in the early 50's has I can just remember them living there. Before he went into the service he drove truck for Williams Lumber Co. in Lakeville NY from 1942 to 1943. Heck, I wasn't even thought of yet. Was in the Army Air force Unit stationed in Fort Dix, New Jersey. He was a Medical Technician. Funny thing, I new he was in the service but never realized what he did until about a week ago. Something that I learned from his passing. Well lets continue - He drove a milk truck, and back then he would go to farmers and pick up the milk cans and deliver them to the dairy. Not sure I was really young at that time, but can remember going with him at times. Can remember once he was backing out of our driveway and my cat was under the car. Well it didn't turn out well. Cat was history. So, one of the farmers that we collected milk from and some cats. Well dad got one and brought it home. It turned oout to be a STUPID cat. Every day and I mean every day the dummy climbed the tree next to the house and would get on the roof. Well, I didn't have that cat for long. Back to the farmers house. (FUNNY) Stupid cat. He did drive School bus for awhile can remember that. He also worked at being a Salesman for Bob McDonald selling Ford cars on Main St. in Geneseo. That was located across the Street from the Big Tree Inn. Can remember him bringing home different cars every once in awhile. Had a little 3 wheel car he brought home once, door kind of opened up in the front. My brother and I would push the car around the yard with one of us steering while the other would push, had lots of fun doing that. Had a Galaxie 500 XL once. That was really cool, hard top convertible. I am sure some of you can remember those. Top folded up and went into the trunk. Had a 1965 Mustang in our garage being hid until the unvailing. Well from there I think he went to Avon and worked for Frank Piraino selling dodges and chrysler. Then I think it was to Roy's Mobil Station on the corner of Main St. and Park St. in Geneseo. He ran that place for many years. That is a great memory as I worked for him for years. Always hired young kids to pump gas at nights and weekends when we weren't going to be there. Well I guess that will end it there. Some good memories that I will never forget. Just a few other things that I am not sure will be in the paper on Sunday the 12th of March. He had 6 grandkids, and 12 Great grandkids. I hope some of you get a chance to read this story of my father. God Bless!!
