Mumford: After a long illness, Ed passed away at home on October 12 at age 85. He was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Mary (Nelan) Keenan; sisters, Helen Keenan and Jean Noto; brothers, Robert and John (Jack) Keenan. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Donegan Keenan; children; daughter, Lynne (Jim) Freeman, son, Matthew (Kim) Keenan; grandchildren; Evelyn and Devan Freeman, Megan, Ryan and Kaylin Keenan, several nieces and nephews.
Ed attended School No. 9 and Caledonia High School where he enjoyed playing football coached by Bob Freeman. He graduated in 1949. He served in the Korean War. In 1958, Ed married Elizabeth (Betty) Donegan. He worked for Rochester Monotype for 30 years, and later stared his own business Day & Keenan Colorcomp. In earlier 1960’s Ed, renovated several properties including the Mumford Saw Mill on George Street, which he made it into a lovely duplex. Upon retirement, Ed wintered in Lakeland, FL. He was a member of the Matthew Clary American Legion for over 60 years, and former color guard member, a lifetime member of the Caledonia Country Club, CMCS Booster Club, Wheatland Town Council Board and Wheatland Town Justice for three terms. He enjoyed fishing trips with friends, Harness racing, and listening to piano music- especially “Autumn Leaves” by Roger Williams.
