Obituary for Michael James Nichols

Michael J. Nichols, 61, of Caledonia passed away peacefully at home on October 9, 2016.

He was predeceased by his wife, Sandra Nichols (Lead) of Caledonia, and his father, Foch Nichols, of Maine. He leaves behind a loving family: partner Karen Ingraham of Caledonia, mother Bea Turner of Mt. Morris, daughters Beth Nichols of LeRoy and Jenny Denton (Ronald Jr.) of College Park, MD; sisters Lynn (Bob) Struble of Mt. Morris, Marguerite Ascioti of Mt. Morris, Daisie (Russell) Nichols Stanley of Honeoye Falls; a grandson, Cyrus Denton of College Park, MD, and a large extended family.

Mike was a proud Army veteran, having served as a military police officer. He was a valued colleague at Sabin Metal Corp in Scottsville for over 30 years.

Those who were fortunate enough to be close to him will remember Mike as a craftsman, tinkering and creating beautiful things with his hands. He loved spending quiet time with his dogs, fishing, collecting stamps, and spoiling his grandson with cookies.

At his request, a small, private memorial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider becoming an organ donor, or contributing to Lollypop Farm of Rochester.
