Caledonia, Unexpectedly on October 1, 2016 just shy of his 80th birthday. Predeceased by his wife Vonnie. He is survived by his children; Marie (Bob) Vaisey, Mark (Helen Serafine) Pullyblank, Marcia (Bob) Enck, Robert (Kim) Pullyblank, Donald (Sue) Pullyblank, Brenda (Matt) Seaman, 10 grandchildren; Alaina, Brian, Rob (Jenny), Kevin, Allie, Casey, Alex, Cole, Brett, Phoebe; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Betty Jane Pullyblank, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Evelyn and Bob Grattan, several nieces and nephews and cousins and many friends.
Pully will be remembered for his love of music. He was a charter member of Kelley’s Hero’s and a member of Just Playin Folks, LeRoy Town Band, Mark Time Marchers and the Sportsman Band. His love of his hometown of Caledonia showed in many ways. He served as a board member and active volunteer for the Big Springs Historical Society and Museum and was the unofficial town historian, member of St. Columba Church. Don was a fan of Caledonia-Mumford sports and attended many games. If you needed something fixed, Don was your man, known as the “Town Electrician!” Don was an US Army Veteran and a member of the Matthew Clary Post. He retired from J&L Oil which later became Arrow Mart and was currently working for Caledonia Diesel and enjoyed farming. His family and friends will remember him for his leaving statement of, “Ready?”
Friends may call Friday, October 7, 2016 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 West Main Street, Caledonia. His Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10 AM, St. Columba Church, 198 North Street, Caledonia, NY 14423. Interment St. Columba Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the St. Columba Church or Big Springs Historical Society, P.O. Box 41, Caledonia, NY 14423.
