York: August 10, 2016 at age 90. Predeceased by her husband, William Doolittle. She is survived by her children, Claudia (Neal Lissack) Brunea, Cynthia (Rev. David) George and William (Cynthia) Doolittle; 8 grandchildren, Jennifer Brunea, Erin (Tom Dysart) Brunea, David (Sarah) George, Jonathan (Suzan) George, Peter (Laurel) George, Rebecca (Matthew) Hakes, William Doolittle, James (Kimberly) Doolittle; 18 great grandchildren, Chase Dysart, Nathanael and Rachael George, Hannah, Abigail,Jacob,Samuel, and Daniel George, Annabeth,Luke, Josiah,and Susanna George, Stephen, Lydia, and Adelyn Hakes,Nehemiah, Eliana, and Lucia Doolittle sisters-in-law, Emma Crawford, Helen Wolfe and Alice Pringle; special niece Nancy Middleton; and many other nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a part of the Doolittle Brothers Farm. She was a member of the York Leicester Senior Citizens, Linwood Grange, and the York United Presbyterian Church where she served as an elder and deacon. She retired from retail sales with J.C. Penney Company, and spent her retirement years enjoying time with her family and friends. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly, and left behind many wonderful memories of special time.
Friends may call Friday 4-7 PM at the Alhart Funeral Home, 3068 W. Main St., Caledonia. Her Memorial Service will be held Saturday 11 AM at the York United Presbyterian Church, 2662 Main St., York. Private interment, Pleasant Valley Cemetery, York. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Teresa House, 21 Highland Road, Geneseo, NY 14454.
