Obituary for Richard Ralph "Dick" Smith

Smith, Richard Ralph “Dick”
Mumford: He was born on April 17, 1932 and passed June 10, 2016. A loving and devoted father, grandfather, uncle & friend. Predeceased by his siblings, George Smith, Grace Mack and Marilyn Venette. He is survived by his siblings, Shirley Taccone, Jan Southcott, Wayne Watkins. Also survived by Joan Alaimo Smith and their children, Blake Smith, Scott (Lynne) Smith, Jackie (Tracy) Tambe, Julie Smith Hine, Kathy (James Lynn) Smith; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; many nieces & nephews. Dick was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, former Superintendent of Physical Planning at Rochester Institute of Technology, and he bred, raised and showed draft horses for 25 years as a partner at Windy Night Shires, Wyoming, NY.
A Celebration of Dick’s life will be held July 9th, 10:30 AM in Mendon Ponds Park at the Devil’s Bathtub shelter. Donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Western & Central NY, 4043 Maple Rd., Ste. 105, Amherst, NY 14426, on-line at LLS.org; or the Western NY Draft Horse & Pony Club, 7131 LaGrange Rd., Perry, NY 14530.
